Two lovers misunderstand each other;
the engineer and the poet.
One speaks a mechanical language of structure,
the other sings a rhyming sonnet.
And while their perceptions are a world apart,
they can learn to see through the other's eyes,
and share a single burning heart,
and drink the wine of love, life's only prize.
Give me your eyes with which to see the world;
I want to learn everything of you.
For into this strange affair we have been hurled
and I want to know you through and through.
Isn't the thinker and the artist,
when blended together, the smartest?
